Acknowledgement: The
Do-It-Yourself
legal kits availble on this site is the
culmination of research and work carried out by the
late Ron Downs, from the late
1960's until his death in April, 2009. His desire
was to provide the ordinary person with information
to enable them to attend to their own family
business personally. He was assisted in this
research by his wife, Janis, who is
carrying on his work.

The author of this kit has been assisting the general public
to "Do It Yourself" for more than thirty years and finds that
most people
have no difficulty at all using
commonsense and a bit of initiative and when faced with a query
having the ability to ask. Over the years we have seen
thousands of ordinary Australians, young and not so young, from
English speaking backgrounds and non-English speaking
background, well educated and not so well educated, from the
ordinary man/woman in the street buying their own home to
business people buying an investment property be it residential
or commercial to the farmer or grazier buying Rural property,
Freehold or State Leasehold, Vacant Land, House, Unit/Town
house, Warehouse or Shops.
We are not lawyers nor do we pretend to be lawyers and do
not give legal advice but we do explain the procedure in the
kit. The information included in this Kit comes from Government
and Semi-Government departmental enquiries and State Government
Legislation and from information gathered over the years
particularly from our own Do It Yourselfers giving feedback
from actual experience. When asked if they had any problems
with the process the most common answer was "Only with the
other side's/mortgagee's lawyer." Most expressed feeling the
satisfaction of a job well done.
Information and forms provided are
current as at the date of
purchase.
